Privacy Policy

Overview

Kro ("the App") helps you manage screen time by earning it with exercise. This policy explains what data the App collects, why, who it is shared with, and how to delete it.

Camera and Video

The camera counts your reps in real time. That counting happens entirely on your device using Apple's Vision framework, and for normal exercise sessions no images or video ever leave your device.

Duels are the one exception. When you take part in a duel, the App records a short video of your attempt. If you choose to share it with the video included, that clip is uploaded to our server and shown to the people on that duel's board. You can delete your video at any time from the three-dot menu on your own score; your score stays, the video is removed.

Screen Time Data

The App uses Apple's Screen Time API (Family Controls & Device Activity) to lock and unlock the apps you choose. Apple does not let us see which apps you use; that data stays on your device inside Apple's framework, and we never send it to a server.

Your Account

The App creates an anonymous account automatically so duels and gifts work. It holds no name or email. After a purchase you may choose to add Sign in with Apple or an email address, so you can recover your subscription and duels on a new phone. If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple user ID and, if you share it, your email or Apple's private relay address.

For duels we store the name and country you choose to show, your scores, the times you set them, and your duel videos if you share them. If you allow notifications, we store a push token so we can tell you when someone takes on your duel.

Reports and Hiding

You can report another person's duel score or video from its three-dot menu. A report stores which attempt was reported and your account ID, and we review reports and remove content that breaks our Terms of Use. You can also hide a person; hiding is stored only on your phone.

Analytics

We use PostHog to understand how the App is used: which screens are opened, which settings are chosen (for example your daily budget and exercise), how exercise sessions go, and whether the App crashes or a purchase fails. These events are tied to a random identifier, not to your name or email, and are never used for advertising.

Advertising Measurement

The App includes the Meta and TikTok software development kits so we can measure which of our ads lead to installs and purchases. The App asks your permission first using Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you allow tracking, these services receive your device's advertising identifier and events such as an install or a subscription starting. If you do not allow it, they receive only the anonymous, aggregated measurement that Apple's SKAdNetwork provides.

Subscriptions

Purchases are processed by Apple; we never see your payment details. We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. RevenueCat receives purchase receipts and a random identifier. You can read RevenueCat's privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.

Where Data Is Stored

Account, duel and report data is stored with our hosting provider, Supabase. Analytics data is stored with PostHog. We do not sell your data.

Deleting Your Data

You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Account → Delete account. This deletes your account, profile, duel scores, duel videos, reports you made and push tokens, and, if you used Sign in with Apple, disconnects Kro from your Apple ID. For any other request about your data, email us and we will handle it within 30 days.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be shown on this page and in the App.
